Default Henchies > Walls

So I was doing Dragon's Lair with all henchies and about the 3rd section or so (starting with the Necro one) as soon as I skip the cut-scene and land in the new section, the henchies start running off. At first I was like "hmm, where are they running to? Let's watch and see". Then Stefan and Little Thom ran right through the wall and didn't stop no matter how much I moved around, attacked and flipped them off.

"Oh well", I thought "I hope they come back" They did: at the beginning of the next level - that's when Dunham and Lina take off - through the walls not to be seen again until the next level. At the beginning of the next level (and every level after that) the henchies all start to run as soon as we land, but I do the back-and forth wiggle until they run back towards me.

Anyone else notice some funky Henchie behavior? (aside from the usual dumb stuff)

I've seen stuff like this happen before, but it's been a long, long time. It used to be a trademark thing for Alesia to do upon ressing at the same res shrine a good handful of times. It's been at least 3 or 4 months since she's done it for me, but that could well be since I don't die as much as I used to.

Dragon's Lair is just a really buggy mission, so it unfortunately doesn't surprise me to see your post. Don't even get me started on what its like trying to play a Beast Master ranger in Dragon's Lair.

Yes, last night, doing Abbadon's Mouth, my hubby died. Lina just stood there, right on top of him, not doing anything. I tried the wiggle back and forth, but she just stood there. I had to drag her back to Mhenlo (who was dead inside the aggro circle of an Ether Seal) so she would rez him first, then we could all run back to my hubby and Lina just stood there again while Mhenlo rezzed him.

I had Stephan do this last week while in a team of 5 + 3 henchies, but don't remember which zone it was. I don't think it was the necro zone though. We didn't miss him.

The same thing happened to me, though it happened in the Mesmer level. Before that, my pet spider disappeared after the cutscene in a previous level Never had any problems with Lina or Dunham though.

I used the /bug command in game and went off to finish it without the stupid warriors. *shrug*

That's actually quite common; the monk henchmen will usually refuse to resurrect other players if monks are dead, even if the other players are right there and the second monk is way out of range. Really sucks if Mhenlo or Lina gets suicidal and runs behind a boss to get killed or something; if you have other people dead, you might not be able to kill whatever it is, but you can't resurrect them without being able to keep the remaining monk alive for the 8+ seconds it takes for them to resurrect.

Ugh, this is the first time I've seen it. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe I should count myself lucky.

I don't think they only raise monks first. It seems the henchies have a priority list and won't res out of order. Yesterday I was with one person and 6 henchies. My teammate died and I retreated with the henchies to kill a single group. Dunham died in the process. The henchies would not res Dunham until after they'd res'd my teammate (who was in the midst of some baddies).

When i ran my warrior through dragons lair with henchies, on the 2nd map (the mesmer boss one) they got trapped in the wall and could not move. that was realyl fun trying to solo the facet of chaos by myself.....I kept having to run back to them to heal and eventually just decided to start over because the facet and i were at a draw (see no solo build equipped at that time)

No I think they do. If you watch Lina and Mhenio they work together when ressing people. Mhenio resses, as soon as the player is up Lina puts protective spirit on them to avoid them getting 1 hit death again, then mhenio heals them back up. For that reason they have each other as priority when ressing, to avoid futher deaths.

Also Lina is not a healer, so she'll always res Mhenio first to avoid building up DP though ressing. There might be exceptoins to the rule, sometimes they do res players. I've seen many high level group leaders take Lina and not Mhenio if we dont have a monk, they dont seem to realize she's full protect, not heal.

I call whichever character I want res'ed first, the henchies almost always listen.

I ran thru Dragons Lair again last night with my newly ascended elem and the henchies were constantly trying to run as soon as the cut scene ended (was skipped). The first time was the mesmer lair and both Stephan and Thom ran off and the "all magic team" had to do without them. After that I was sure to move around immediately to call them back. Annoying though.

LOL, just came across this thread... Reminded me of something similar that Little Thom did during the Aurora Glade mission.

After attuning the crystals, the cutscene kicked in. We watched it and when it was over, Little Thom started running. He went off a cliff and continued to run in mid air. It was quite a bizzare sight.

My guildie asked me if I was ready to go and I said we've just lost Little Thom. It was difficult to explain how Little Thom ran off a cliff and into the distant horizon.

Wished I took a screenshot.

Day before yesterday I was doing The Wilds with my fledgling Ranger (all-hench team). I get near the end, and all my henchies get killed fighting the 2nd-to-last boss/group of Spiders. I get past, and get to the cut scene, counting on the fact that they would be res'd.

They all res'd, then immediately ALL of them took off back to who-knows-where. The 3 soft-targets get stuck inside a cliff and killed by some random Wind Riders above them. (Meanwhile I'm killed trying to solo the ending fights) Stefan and Thom hang around the cliff doing nothing for a while (maybe a minute) and then amazingly decide to run back to me.

Here's where it gets weird ... they win! With the help of Evennia, they manage to take out all the end-fight spiders and boss!

*Lucky*

I had some problems running my wa/r through Dragon's Lair - ran the mission twice and my pet would disappear randomly after the cutscenes between levels. I would actually not see him in the cutscene running up so I would know he is off somewhere. She was gone for 3 straight levels at one point then just reappeared...

Also I ran into an odd bug in Sorrow's Furnace (doing Galen's quests). When going near the temple, all of a sudden I was walking about 15 above the ground and could see all the other party members beneath me on the ground. I DID take screenshots of that though the background is very dark and doesn't display it as clearly as I would like that I was not on the ground there. I walked further and ended up back on solid ground finally.

yes that happen to me 2 times so far the 2 warrior hench ran through the wall and didn't come back till next zone, first time it happen i died and restarted with hench and managed to make it again after the 2 warriors did the same thing. Then when we made it to Glint, all the hench took off through the wall again and left me by myself, guess they got scared.
